IC Colt Limited is the Zambian arm of IC Colt, the certified partner to Kingspan Light + Air International for Colt International smoke and heat control and natural ventilation solutions across Sub-Saharan Africa.

Learning from the wider region

Our decision to embed in Zambia is also informed by lessons learned elsewhere in the region, particularly around how standards and brands are used.

We have seen how quickly phrases like “international standard” and “compliant” can be thrown around in tenders and marketing without the documentation or systems to support them. We have also seen how the association with a global brand can be used for optics, without the behaviours to match.

In Zambia, we are taking a different line:

• Access to the Kingspan / Colt partnership is treated as a responsibility and a reward, not a badge.

• The use of IC Colt, Kingspan and Colt branding is tied to clear provenance, evidence and behaviour.

Looking ahead

The registration of IC Colt (Zambia) is an important milestone, AND it is still a starting point.

Over the coming months and years, we aim to:

• Support early-stage project conversations where building safety and performance can be locked in, not retrofitted.

• Host knowledge-sharing and CPD sessions with local institutions and professional bodies.

• Build a pipeline strong enough to justify responsible local manufacturing and skills development, creating long-term value in Zambia rather than simply importing it.

• Use Zambia as a base to serve neighbouring COMESA markets, always in partnership with local professionals.

Zambia is where we have chosen to anchor this next phase – close to the centre of the continent and between South Africa and the wider region – as a regional base we intend to grow with, alongside future strategic coastal hubs in Namibia and Kenya.
